MiniEuroRando 2010

MiniEuroRando KRNOV... October 7-10, 2010

Invitation into the Krnov Region

Town Krnov is an ideal starting point for cognition of mountain area of Jeseníky and also Osoblažsko lowland. Border location of Krnov is also a big opportunity for visits to polish towns and villages, rich in cultural monuments and in a lot of tourist rest areas. Fates of places around the border were for centuries linked together, and the border was not formed until Austria-Prussian wars in the middle of eighteenth century. The border now, after the entrance of both countries into Shengen territory, stopped being an obstacle in cognition of beauty and wealth of this region.

Mountain-range Jeseníky is the second highest mountain-range in the Czech Republic, it is touristicly attractive, and it is one of the most significant areas of tourist travel located in protected landscape area. Mountain tops there enter the subalpine zone with alpine openings without continuous forest stands, which gain upon the top of the highest mountain of Hrubý Jeseník - Praděd (1492m). The whole area is interwoven with tourist paths and sport centres where you can spend nice whiles, rest and regenerate. Here can be found many charming places such as national park Rejvíz, healing springs in spa Jeseník or in Karlova Studánka or karst area of cave Na Pomezí, which arose in period of older Palaeozoic. Certainly, it is worth to visit also Rešov waterfalls, which belong to the most beautiful in the Czech Republic. Very interesting are as well dead volcanoes in outskirts of Bruntál.

For history lovers are great opportunity residencies in foothills, town and religious architecture in very Krnov or castles in Bruntál, Slezské Rudoltice, Linhartovy or in Velké Losiny. Medieval paintings in the Holy Spirit and in St. Benedict’s church in Krnov catch the interest of both, experts and laics. To local unique monuments belongs also Jewish synagogue in Krnov or Jewish cemetery in Osoblaha. Among technical curiosities rank also narrow gauge railway from Třemešná ve Slezsku to Osoblaha. This railway became with its sight-seeing steam train welcome tourist attraction of every summer season.
Practically untouched nature, fresh air, gorgeous landscape sceneries in connection with rich cultural heritage make from this region an ideal place for cognition and relaxation.

Dear touristic friends,

our country belongs in Europe among the middle-sized but we are convinced that according to touristic scale it is vasty. It has very broken woody surface and is almost whole de-limited by boundary mountains edges. On its territory are situated hundreds of important as well as small cultural monuments. Our Czech Tourist Club celebrated last year already 120 years since its foundation and only one year younger is our reputable system of tourist markings. Czechia lies in the centre of Europe so that it is to us not peerless far from any furthest periphery of this continent.

In the year 2006 we tried on the host role in all-European tourist meeting EuroRando in České Budějovice. For year 2010 we decided for organization of MiniEuroRando, which is destined above all for our neighbours and for middle Europe states. But we would like invite all people we succeed to reach. For all these people we have chosen the edge of mountain-range Jeseníky with centre in the town famous for organ manufacture – in Krnov. Together with representatives of regional and local self-government we prepare for you not only hiking tours and sightseeing tourism but also unconventional and adrenalineful forms of time in nature, excursions to production workspaces and homeland studied and folklore meetings with attendance of ensemble of local Greek minority.

Come stay to one small and boundary region of Czechia. To the region that wants to prepare large tourist, cultural as well as social experiences for you.

For the honorary presidium
PhDr Jan Stráský, president of KČT
